On December 30, 2019, we conducted a workshop/awareness program on ‘CHILD RIGHTS: THE ROLE OF PARENTS’ at “Dev Bhoomi Academy”, Manpur Paschim, Haldwani, Nainital, Uttrakhand.

Shri. N.M.S. Negi, Advocate and Km. Nikita Singh, Advocate of NMA Legal (Law Firm), represented the NGO, SUHANUBHAV. The workshop was attended by about 250 parents. They were informed about Child Rights (Legal & Constitutional), different forms of Child Abuse, Internal & External factors of Child abuse, symptoms & precautionary role of the parents and society. We also informed them about various Govt. program(s)/ Schemes for Children & the remedies available for a victim of child abuse.

Issues were deliberated through audio and video presentation. The program was organised by Smt. Bhagirathi Devi, Managing Director of “Dev Bhoomi Academy”. The workshop was successful in its objective to: create awareness among the members of civil society and help them bring out their confidence, to stand and speak & fight for their Child’s rights.

The workshop ended with a vote of thanks by Smt. Pooja Bisht, Principal, “Dev Bhoomi Academy”.
